Impressions on a Morning Walk
Author : Dr. K.S. Kang
Today coming from my room I found a number of beggars adorning saffron
and green clothes -as in India
it is convenient to get alms in the guise of s sage- sleeping soundly on the
pavement of the railway station perhaps after a tiring sleepless overnight
journey in the unreserved coach of the train. One of the stout looking beggar
was snoring loudly equally matching the sound of arriving and departing trains
from the station. It occurred to me that perhaps these people were real
citizens of the world as they belonged to this world but without any worldly
attachment like house, property or family. Though they were surrounded by life
yet remained unaffected by it just like Lotus that blooms in muddy water but
remains unaffected by it. Pondering over their aspirations and aims of life it
appeared hat they were on this planet in compliance with the command of God to
spend certain number of years allotted to them by the Creator. They have no
attachment to this world and the only reason that they are alive in this world
is that they are obeying command of God to remain alive till one day, appointed
by destiny they will leave this world to merge with one God, who is controller
of everything in the universe, though he maybe called by different names.
